Study in Canada

Canada is the largest country in North America and consists of 10 provinces and 3 territories. It is located in the northern part of the continent, and the capital of Canada is Ottawa. It is the second largest country in the world territory-wise. It is a popular destination for vocational and diploma courses.

High on academic quality but affordable tuition fee – Canada is one of the best study destinations for students. With high measurements in quality of life and education, Canada has been ranked by the UN as one of the best places to live in the world. It is a developed country with a high-income economy and successful government, making it a fantastic place to live and study in!

Canada is a huge and diverse country, home to over 37 million people. Due to its size, Canada is the second largest country in the world. Sharing its southern border with the USA and its north-western border with Alaska, the country has a widely ranging climate with four distinct seasons.  The majority of Canada is dominated by forests, with urbanised cities. The country boasts many tourist attractions, including Niagara Falls, Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies. There is plenty to do for anyone wishing to make the most of their downtime!

Canada has a large selection of universities and university colleges located in both urban and rural settings in every region of the country. Degrees from Canadian universities are considered to be equivalent to those from American or European universities. Most Canadian universities are publicly funded meaning that they often work out more cost-effective than American options.

You can study almost anything in Canada; from agriculture to education, journalism to psychology, maths or medicine – it’s likely you’ll be able to find a course to suit you.

Canada has no one central education system, instead each province/state controls it’s own. There are several types of qualification available throughout Canada:

Bachelors degree: Undergraduate degree awarded after four years of study

Postgraduate diploma/certificate: Bachelors degree is required and it involves 12 – 17 weeks of full-time opportunities to gain practical experience alongside theoretical studies, this can lead to a Masters

Masters degree: Takes two years and can be completed after either a three or four years Bachelors or a Postgraduate diploma from Canada

Doctorate/PhD: Takes four – seven years and is a research-based qualification taken after a Masters degree.
